Steenbergs Organic Anise Seed is the dried berry from the anise plant. It is a sweet spice that complements sweet baked goods really well, so is used in biscuits and cakes in Germany and Italy, as well as scattered through bread dough as in Scandinavian rye breads. Aniseed goes well in chicken pies, in Indian curry vegetable dishes and also in vegetable soups. Anise seed makes a good tea and is used by some as a digestif after a large meal, or in a spiced tea drink.
